Passport Requirements
Every traveler—adults and children included—must present a passport valid for at least six months beyond your planned departure date from Kenya. Ensure your passport has at least two blank pages for immigration stamps. This is strictly enforced at all entry points.
Do I need a visa to enter Kenya?
Citizens of most countries require a visa (ETA) to enter Kenya. This includes citizens of:
- United States
- United Kingdom
- India
- Canada
- European Union
- China
- United Arab Emirates

Electronic Travel Authorization (eTA): Essential for Entry
Since January 2024, Kenya has streamlined its entry process with a mandatory Electronic Travel Authorization (eTA) for all international visitors (excluding Kenyan citizens and East African Community nationals). Think of it as your digital gateway to Kenya’s incredible wildlife and landscapes.

- Fresh passport-style photo in JPEG format only
- Professional quality with clear, color resolution
- Face fully visible: no hats, sunglasses, or hair obstructions
- Important: Screenshots of existing passport photos are rejected—take a new photo using your webcam during application if needed
📋 Supporting Documentation
- Passport bio-data page (the page with your photo and details) – JPEG or PDF format
- Flight booking confirmation showing your full name, arrival, and departure dates – JPEG or PDF format
- Safari itinerary or travel program from your tour operator detailing your Kenya adventure – JPEG or PDF format

Group Applications (Highly Recommended for Families)
Streamline the process for families, couples, or travel companions (up to 9 people) who share:

For safari groups larger than 9 people, simply submit multiple group applications—your tour operator can assist with coordination.
How long does it take for the Kenya ETA to be processed?
Complete your eTA application well in advance of your departure date. While processing is typically quick (generally within 5 business days), allow extra time during peak travel seasons to avoid any last-minute stress before your dream Kenya safari begins.
Applications can be submitted up to 90 days before travel. We recommend applying at least 2 weeks before your departure.

Visas for Kenya can no longer be obtained on arrival. Kindly apply for an ETA if you require a visa.
